Aspen Wedding Photographer and Videographer

A balance of raw emotion and refined composition. Immersive wedding photography and films shaped by landscapes, movement, and connection across Aspen and surrounding destinations.
We blend documentary storytelling with a cinematic, editorial approach to create imagery that feels refined, timeless, and deeply personal. Whether you are planning an intimate mountain elopement above Aspen, a celebration at Viceroy Snowmass, or a multi-day destination wedding across the Roaring Fork Valley, our focus is on capturing how your wedding felt, not just how it looked.
As an Aspen wedding photographer, I work with couples who value intentional, experience-driven celebrations. From alpine elopements to grand resort weekends, each story is crafted to reflect your pace, your people, and your environment.
The
Storyteller
Behind The Scenes
Some moments define a lifetime. They unfold in the stillness of a mountaintop, in the warmth of candlelit celebrations, in the echo of laughter shared with your closest friends. These are the moments that deserve more than memory. They deserve to be felt, fully and forever.
As an Aspen wedding photographer and videographer, I have spent the last decade traveling throughout Colorado, the U.S., and abroad documenting raw, powerful love in its many forms. From intimate elopements above the Roaring Fork Valley to grand celebrations at The Little Nell, Hotel Jerome, Pine Creek Cookhouse, and The Viceroy Snowmass — Aspen and Snowmass draw some of the most remarkable weddings in the country.
I approach every wedding with intention, crafting immersive imagery and films that feel distinct and enduring. Not just how it looked, but how it felt.
—Mark Blake

The valley. The mountain. The prestige.
Aspen weddings occupy a category of their own in Colorado — a combination of alpine scale, cultural prestige, and venue character that rewards photographers who understand both the light and the landscape. Ceremonies at restored ranch properties above the valley floor, intimate celebrations at secluded mountain cabins, and resort weekends at the foot of Snowmass Mountain each present a different visual rhythm. What they share is a clientele that values craft, discretion, and imagery that holds up for decades.
We work with couples planning weddings across Aspen, Snowmass Village, and the broader Roaring Fork Valley — from backcountry elopements to multi-day destination celebrations where the weekend itself becomes part of the story. Our approach is documentary-led and editorially restrained, built for environments where the landscape does significant visual work on its own. For couples also considering the Vail Valley or Telluride, browse our full Colorado venue guide for a firsthand perspective on every region we document.

“so grateful to have had such an awesome photographer
on our day”
Mark is truly the BEST photographer and such a wonderful person to work with!! My husband and I didn’t know exactly what we wanted in terms of wedding photos but we knew we loved Mark’s work. Mark’s easygoing & professional attitude helped guide us to the services that were best for us, and when our venue cancelled on us and we had to entirely re-plan our wedding, he was SO flexible and helped us restructure our package to accommodate a new location and timeline. Throughout the entire planning process he was super communicative and thoughtful. The day of, he and his team ran things incredibly smoothly, took advantage of every moment and helped us get in some extra shots, and made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera (something my husband and I struggle with) – we received a ton of compliments from our already-married friends about how professional they were throughout the day. Not to mention – he and his team stuck it out through a freak hailstorm during our ceremony with us!! We really can’t recommend Mark enough, & are so grateful to have had such an awesome photographer on our day!!
“Mark delivered something beyond our wildest dreams. His art form is unique yet has a timeless feel.”
Mark Blake was the very first choice we made for our big day and it turned out to be the best one we would make! Creating a story and true art though photos was our highest priority and Mark delivered something beyond our wildest dreams. His art form is unique yet has a timeless feel. The emotion of our moments really came through and you can see the rawness and beauty of the memory. His use of light and dark is truly an art. He was able to direct us to create every shot and we felt completely comfortable with his kind energy. Everyone can’t stop commenting on how stunning our photos are and says they look like they are from a magazine. He really captured both the amazing mountain backdrops and us in every shot. I cried many tears of joy when I saw our photos!
“Mark stole our hearts from the first photo we saw, and he’s lived up to that expectation.”
Where do I start. Mark really helped us plan our wedding in a sense. We knew we wanted something small, out West, natural, and easy. Mark helped us narrow down where we wanted to get married, was there to bounce ideas off of, and had an amazing attitude throughout the whole thing. Day of, he was on the ball, quick to keep things going when we inevitably ran out of time, and was well organized. Not to mention, he has a corgi, so you know he’s good people. Mark stole our hearts from the first photo we saw, and he’s lived up to that expectation. Get ready Denver area, Mark’s about to take the town by storm.
Questions About Aspen Wedding Photography
What makes Aspen different from other Colorado wedding destinations?
Aspen occupies a category of its own — a combination of cultural prestige, alpine scale, and a venue character that rewards photographers who understand both the light and the landscape. The Roaring Fork Valley sits higher and more remote than Vail, with a more intimate town scale and a more selective venue ecosystem. Couples who choose Aspen tend to prioritize distinction over convention — a celebration that feels genuinely set apart, shaped by place rather than by format. Venues like Patak Ranch above the valley and Viceroy Snowmass embody that character completely.
What is the best time of year for an Aspen wedding?
Late September is Aspen’s most visually extraordinary season — aspen gold fills the Roaring Fork Valley and the surrounding mountains in a way that photographs unlike anywhere else in Colorado. July and August offer the most stable outdoor conditions for ceremonies and the longest evenings for portrait sessions. Winter weddings in Aspen carry significant prestige and produce striking imagery under snow, but the compressed daylight and I-82 mountain access require careful contingency planning. Each season has genuine merit — the strongest approach is choosing a date that aligns with your vision and working with it rather than against it.
Do you photograph destination weddings at Aspen venues?
Yes — Aspen is one of our primary destination wedding markets. We have documented weddings at Patak Ranch, Smith Cabin, and Viceroy Snowmass, and we work with couples traveling from across the country and internationally. For destination clients, we offer pre-wedding consultation calls to discuss venue logistics, timeline planning, and photography priorities specific to your location. Our Colorado venue guide covers the Aspen and Snowmass region in the context of the broader Colorado wedding landscape.
How much does wedding photography cost in Aspen?
Wedding photography investment in Aspen is comparable to other premier Colorado mountain markets — Vail, Beaver Creek, and Telluride. Our approach is to discuss your specific coverage needs, timeline, and whether you are adding film alongside photography before arriving at a custom quote. We take on a limited number of Aspen weddings each year. If you have a date in mind, the best place to start is our booking page.
Do you photograph elopements in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley?
Yes — elopements are some of the most creatively compelling work we do in this region. The Roaring Fork Valley and surrounding Elk Mountains offer backcountry terrain, alpine meadows, and remote settings that are genuinely difficult to access with larger wedding parties but perfectly suited to intimate two-person celebrations. If you are considering an Aspen or Snowmass elopement, reach out through our booking page and we can discuss locations, logistics, and timing in detail.
