BY THE WEST
Denver Wedding Photographer and Videographer

A balance of raw emotion and refined composition. Immersive wedding photography and films shaped by landscapes, movement, and connection across Denver and the surrounding Colorado mountains.
We blend documentary storytelling with a cinematic, editorial approach to create imagery that feels refined, timeless, and deeply personal. Whether you are planning a wedding in Denver, exchanging vows in Vail, or hosting a multi-day celebration in Beaver Creek or the Gore Range, our focus is on capturing how your wedding felt, not just how it looked.
As a Denver wedding photographer, I work with couples who value intentional, experience-driven celebrations. From modern city weddings to destination mountain weekends, each story is crafted to reflect your pace, your people, and your environment.

Behind The Scenes
Some moments define a lifetime. They unfold in the stillness of a mountaintop, in the warmth of candlelit celebrations, in the echo of laughter shared with your closest friends. These are the moments that deserve more than memory. They deserve to be felt, fully and forever.
As a Denver wedding photographer and videographer, I have spent the last decade traveling throughout Colorado, the U.S., and abroad documenting raw, powerful love in its many forms. From intimate elopements in the mountains above Denver to multi-day wedding celebrations across the city and beyond, I create work that is deeply personal, shaped by place, energy, and connection. Based on the Front Range, I regularly shoot weddings and elopements from Fort Collins and Boulder down through Denver, Lyons, and everywhere in between.
I approach every wedding with intention, crafting immersive imagery and films that feel distinct and enduring. Not just how it looked, but how it felt.

The city. The mountains. Both.
Denver weddings unfold across a range of settings — from the industrial warmth of Moss Denver in the Santa Fe Arts District, to Blanc and the Ramble Hotel in RiNo, to garden ceremonies at the Denver Botanic Gardens and estate properties in Golden and Morrison. Documentary-led coverage works particularly well here — couples who choose the city prioritize experience over spectacle, and the constant movement between neighborhoods is part of what makes Denver weddings compelling to document. Many couples we work with are also planning a destination extension, combining a city ceremony with a Vail or Telluride reception weekend. “so grateful to have had such an awesome photographer
on our day”
Mark is truly the BEST photographer and such a wonderful person to work with!! My husband and I didn’t know exactly what we wanted in terms of wedding photos but we knew we loved Mark’s work. Mark’s easygoing & professional attitude helped guide us to the services that were best for us, and when our venue cancelled on us and we had to entirely re-plan our wedding, he was SO flexible and helped us restructure our package to accommodate a new location and timeline. Throughout the entire planning process he was super communicative and thoughtful. The day of, he and his team ran things incredibly smoothly, took advantage of every moment and helped us get in some extra shots, and made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera (something my husband and I struggle with) – we received a ton of compliments from our already-married friends about how professional they were throughout the day. Not to mention – he and his team stuck it out through a freak hailstorm during our ceremony with us!! We really can’t recommend Mark enough, & are so grateful to have had such an awesome photographer on our day!!
“Mark delivered something beyond our wildest dreams. His art form is unique yet has a timeless feel.”
Mark Blake was the very first choice we made for our big day and it turned out to be the best one we would make! Creating a story and true art though photos was our highest priority and Mark delivered something beyond our wildest dreams. His art form is unique yet has a timeless feel. The emotion of our moments really came through and you can see the rawness and beauty of the memory. His use of light and dark is truly an art. He was able to direct us to create every shot and we felt completely comfortable with his kind energy. Everyone can’t stop commenting on how stunning our photos are and says they look like they are from a magazine. He really captured both the amazing mountain backdrops and us in every shot. I cried many tears of joy when I saw our photos!
“Mark stole our hearts from the first photo we saw, and he’s lived up to that expectation.”
Where do I start. Mark really helped us plan our wedding in a sense. We knew we wanted something small, out West, natural, and easy. Mark helped us narrow down where we wanted to get married, was there to bounce ideas off of, and had an amazing attitude throughout the whole thing. Day of, he was on the ball, quick to keep things going when we inevitably ran out of time, and was well organized. Not to mention, he has a corgi, so you know he’s good people. Mark stole our hearts from the first photo we saw, and he’s lived up to that expectation. Get ready Denver area, Mark’s about to take the town by storm.
Questions About Denver Wedding Photography
What is the Denver wedding photography scene like?
Denver’s wedding market is more varied than its mountain reputation suggests. The city offers restored industrial venues, boutique hotels, rooftop spaces with Front Range views, and neighborhood settings across RiNo, LoHi, and Capitol Hill that give couples a genuinely urban Colorado wedding experience. Venues like Moss Denver and Fort Greene in RiNo represent the strongest current direction in Denver wedding design — industrial character with refined execution. Denver also functions as a natural base for couples combining a city ceremony with a mountain reception in Vail or Telluride.
What Denver wedding venues do you photograph at regularly?
We photograph regularly at Moss Denver and Fort Greene in RiNo, and have documented celebrations at the Ramble Hotel, the Denver Botanic Gardens, and private estates throughout the greater Denver area. Our coverage extends to the foothills venues west of the city — including elopements at locations like Guanella Pass and Morrison — which combine Denver’s accessibility with genuine mountain character. Our full Colorado venue guide covers the Denver region alongside the broader mountain landscape.
When is the best time of year for a Denver wedding?
Denver weddings work well across all four seasons, with more flexibility than mountain venues. May through October is peak season for outdoor ceremonies, with the most stable weather and the longest evenings. September offers Front Range foliage and soft directional light. Winter weddings in Denver are genuinely viable — the city averages 300 days of sunshine per year, and light snow creates a photogenic backdrop without the access and logistics complexity of mountain winter weddings. For couples considering mountain elopements alongside a Denver reception, early October is the single strongest combination of conditions across both environments.
Do you travel to mountain venues from Denver on the same day?
Yes — many of the couples we work with are based in Denver and getting married at mountain venues in Vail, Beaver Creek, Aspen, or Telluride. We build mountain travel into every wedding timeline as a standard part of our planning process. I-70 mountain travel timing, especially on summer Fridays and weekends, requires careful attention and is something we plan around specifically to ensure we arrive with time to orient at the venue before coverage begins.
Can you photograph our engagement session in Denver before our mountain wedding?
Yes — and for couples planning destination mountain weddings, a Denver engagement session is something we genuinely encourage. It creates an opportunity to work together before the wedding day itself, which meaningfully changes how comfortable you feel in front of the camera when it matters most. RiNo, LoHi, Washington Park, and the Morrison foothills all offer strong engagement session environments. Reach out through our booking page to discuss timing and locations.
